We are looking for a motivated and talented PHP Backend Developer (m/f/d) to join our growing team in Thessaloniki. As part of our engineering team, you will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of enterprise applications and digital platforms across a variety of industries. You will work closely with experienced colleagues, apply modern development practices, and help deliver reliable and scalable software solutions.

Your Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust backend services and business-critical applications using PHP and modern development frameworks
• Build scalable RESTful APIs and integrations that support complex digital ecosystems
• Collaborate closely with software engineers, solution architects, business analysts, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Contribute to application architecture, technical design discussions, and continuous platform improvements
• Ensure software quality through testing, code reviews, and adherence to development standards and best practices
• Support the deployment, monitoring, and optimization of applications across development and production environments
• Contribute to Agile delivery teams and actively participate in sprint planning, estimations, and technical workshops
• Explore and leverage modern AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity, quality, and delivery efficiency

Your Profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• 3+ years of professional experience as a backend developer
• Proficiency in modern PHP (8.x) and Symfony
• Familiarity with MySQL / MariaDB
• Solid knowledge of Git and CI/CD workflows
• Practical experience using    AI coding tools (e.g. Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar)
• Strong background building and consuming REST APIs
• Excellent command of English, both written and spoken

Nice to Have

• Exposure to Elasticsearch / OpenSearch
• Familiarity with Docker / DDEV
• Understanding of Shopware e-commerce platform
• German language skills
